THE MARK DID NOT END SILENCE.IT OPENED A WAY FOR THOUGHT TO TRAVEL.

FRLA MARQUE N’A PAS MIS FIN AU SILENCE. ELLE A OUVERT UNE VOIE POUR QUE LA PENSÉE VOYAGE.

DEDAS ZEICHEN BEENDETE NICHT DIE STILLE. ES ÖFFNETE EINEN WEG, AUF DEM GEDANKEN WEITERREISEN.

ITIL SEGNO NON POSE FINE AL SILENZIO. APRÌ UNA VIA PERCHÉ IL PENSIERO POTESSE VIAGGIARE.

ESLA MARCA NO PUSO FIN AL SILENCIO. ABRIÓ UN CAMINO PARA QUE EL PENSAMIENTO PUDIERA VIAJAR.

01QIDMU / Contemporary interpretation

One mark · many futures

A thought leaves its maker and reaches someone else. Across different materials, languages and tools, that possibility continues. This is QIDMU's contemporary reading of it.

ENFrom signs pressed into clay to intelligence shaped in code, one human impulse endures: to give thought a form that can travel.

From the Baal Cycle — KTU/CAT 1.3 III 22–25

A mythic passage from the Ugaritic Baal Cycle, presented here as literature with its source and context preserved.

The sense, briefly: “A word of trees and a whisper of stone…”

03A visible boundary

An inherited trace. A present-day reading.

H / Verified history
  1. 01

Ugaritic is an alphabetic cuneiform script of 30 signs attested at ancient Ugarit / Ras Shamra on the Syrian coast.

  2. 02

The signs were primarily impressed into clay, and Ugaritic was generally read from left to right.

  3. 03

It is one of the earliest extensively documented alphabetic systems. It is not presented here as “the first alphabet.”

  4. 04

The script should not be described as the direct parent of every modern alphabet, and its signs are not pictographic symbols.

Q / QIDMU interpretation
  1. 01

QIDMU draws on the endurance of written thought as a contemporary frame—not a direct lineage from Ugaritic writing to code.

  2. 02

The company’s name is a modern vocalization of q-d-m, not a claim of one certain ancient pronunciation.

  3. 03

The chamber, light plane, and monumental seal are artistic interpretations, not archaeological reconstructions.
